Guidelines for Authors

General Information

The Entorno journal adheres to the use of the Creative Commons: Attribution-NonCommercial-Share Alike (CC BY-NC-SA) license. Authors retain the moral rights to their work and grant the journal the right of first publication.

Entorno is a journal that promotes open access and the full dissemination of scientific knowledge. It publishes articles in the areas of Social Sciences, Engineering and Computer Science, Law, Humanities, Economics, Commerce and Administration, Architecture, Design, Technology, and Education.

General Criteria for Article Acceptance

Articles must be scientific in nature.
Articles must be original and unpublished and must not have been published, totally or partially, in other publications. Subsequent publication will require prior authorization from the editor and the author.
The receipt of work does not imply an obligation to publish it.
The opinion expressed by the authors is their exclusive responsibility and does not necessarily reflect the position of the Editorial Committee or UTEC.

Text Structure of the Entorno Journal

Format and Length

Language: Spanish is used; the abstract and keywords must include their English version.
Length: The complete article must not exceed 5,500 words (this count excludes references, tables, and figures).
Presentation: Written in one-and-a-half spacing, with a first-line indent of 1.27 cm, with no extra spaces between paragraphs or headings. Font type Times New Roman, size 12. Normal margins.

Title and Authors (Complete Data)

Title: Must be fully related to the topic, limited to a maximum of 15 words. It must be specific, clear, and concise.
Authors: The full name and surname of each author must be noted below the title.
Footnote: The institution of origin (institutional affiliation) or declaration of independent professional, academic degrees, current position, and the corresponding author's email must be indicated.
ORCID: It is mandatory to include the complete persistent ORCID identifier for all authors.

Abstract and Keywords

Each article must be accompanied by an abstract in Spanish and one in English, not exceeding 250 words. This limit applies consistently to all submissions.
Research Articles (IMRAD): The abstract must clearly indicate: 1. Objectives. 2. Place and date of realization. 3. Method. 4. Main results with statistical interpretation. 5. Discussion and/or Conclusions.
Other articles: The abstract must contain objectives, supporting methodology, synthesis of the main thesis, academic interpretation, results, and conclusions.
Purpose: The abstract will allow readers to know the content of the article. It must not include information or a conclusion that does not appear in the text.
Keywords: Minimum 5 and maximum 7 words, in Spanish and English.

Body of the Article

The works are divided into sections corresponding to the IMRAD format: Introduction, Materials and Methods, Results, and Discussion. Other works may require headings and subheadings consistent with the content.

Suggestions

It is recommended to use sources with ISSN and ISBN.
The Publication Manual of the American Psychological Association, APA 7th ed., will be used, especially in the citations and references sections.

Specific Guidelines on Artificial Intelligence (AI)

The Entorno journal, aligned with the principles of the UNESCO Recommendation and the Heredia Declaration, establishes the following ethical requirements for the use of Artificial Intelligence tools in research.

1. Transparency, Explainability, and Authorship

Model Identification: Authors must clearly specify the model, version, and exact purpose of the AI tool used in the Materials and Methods section.
Principle of Explainability: If the AI generates core results, authors must detail the data input and explain the algorithmic process that led to the conclusion. The journal requires that AI-assisted research be auditable and explainable.
Human Authorship: AI tools do not qualify as authors. Final responsibility, originality, and accountability rest exclusively with the human authors.

2. Fairness and Ethical Use of Data

Bias Analysis: Authors must analyze and report in the Discussion section any potential biases inherent in the training data used by the AI and how these might affect the validity of the results.
Linguistic Assistance: AI may be used to improve grammar or translation. If AI is used to refine language (beyond basic correctors), a note of acknowledgment must be included at the end of the manuscript.

Submission Preparation Checklist

All following submissions must meet the requirements:

The article must have clarity, soundness, and sufficient bibliographic support.
Send attached or at the end of the article a summary of the academic or scientific life of the author or authors (No more than a 12-line paragraph).
Tables must be constructed using the APA 7th ed. style format. If taken from another source, they must include the Table/Figure Note indicating their origin.
Tables and images must be sent in a separate folder, and in the document, they must be correctly numbered. Images must be original or free to use, and have the appropriate print quality (300 DPI is recommended).
The text must contain references and citations in accordance with the APA 7th ed. standards.

Required Structure: Title (Spanish and English), Author's name with institutional affiliation and complete ORCID, email, Content Abstract (Maximum 250 words, in Spanish and English), Keywords (Minimum 3 and maximum 5, in Spanish and English), Introduction (Maximum 3 sections), Method, Results, Conclusions or Discussion, and References (Only those cited in the text and under the APA 7th ed. Standard).
